Vietnam’s first fruit festival begins in Tien Giang
Vietnam’s first-ever national fruit festival got underway in the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang on April 19. Special fruits from all over the country, equipment for growing fruit and advanced technologies for agriculture are all on display.

On the first day of the fair, a competition for safe and delicious fruits was held and several national records were set, such as the largest map of Vietnam to be made entirely of fruit.
The festival, which will last until April 24, aims to promote the trademarks of fruit grown in Vietnam and includes fruit fairs and competitions, along with seminars on domestic and foreign fruit markets. Measures to link up scientists, fruit growers, fruit processors, local authorities, as well as displays of models of eco tourism are also part of the event.
The festival will not only help fruit businesses to promote their trademarks and expand their markets but also gives them the opportunity to access the latest techniques and new ideas on growing fruit, said the organisers.
