Khanh Hoa to host international sailing race

The World Match Racing Tour (WMRT) and the Rainbow International Co. Ltd. on February 6th 2010 signed an agreement on the organisation of the eighth stage of this year’s tour in Nha Trang bay of the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa in next September.

This is the first time Vietnam is featured in the sailing championship which will be part of a series of events to mark the 1,000 th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.

There are twelve teams attracting more than one billion spectators of 100 countries on all over the world. The competition will begin in France in April and then travel to Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, the US, Portugal, the Republic of Korea (RoK), Vietnam and Malaysia.

WMRT President Peter Gilmour said, the hosting of the race is expected to promote the image of beautiful Nha Trang bay to the world.

Vice Chairman of the Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee Le Xuan Than promised to create all favourable conditions for the success of the event.
