Tram cars to put into operation this Lunar New Year

Arccording to general director of Dong Xuan Joint Stock Company, 12 imported tram cars are going to register and put into operation before Vietnamese Lunar New Year in a conference in the morning January 27th 2010.

The company has planned the route which is 6km length, passing through 28 trading streets, 13 guild streets and many historical sites of Hanoi. Each tram car has a capacity of 9 passengers and a maximum speed of 45 km/h

The route starts near Thang Long puppetry Theater, making 13 stops for visits to such sites Quan Chuong Gate, Kim Ngan Temple, Old house at 87 May May Street, King Le’s Temple, King Ly Thai To’s Statute…., accompanying with tour guide.

The fare is 15,000 VND/passenger/route for individuals and 240,000 VND/route for group hiring a whole car.

Also in the meeting, chairman of Hoan Kiem District's People Committee Nguyen Cong Khoi said that the city leaders agee with this plan and allowing to expand the service to serve visitors and protect environment as well.
